BIRTH OF JOY (Sixties On Steroids / Psychedelic Organ Rock&Roll) Pumping drums, raw guitars and a supercharged organ make of Birth of Joy a chemistry you can’t deny.
Influenced by psychedelica, blues and steaming rock&roll this trio takes you back to the old times of MC5, The Doors and even Pink Floyd! With a drumplayer that could be Keith Moon’s son, an organist that harrases his instrument to death and a singer/guitarist that seems to be the power version of Jim Morrison, this band is bound to catapult psychedelic sixties rock&roll back into our modern times.
With over 150 shows in the past 3 years, Birth of Joy proved to be a true live-machine to be reckoned with! They were signed by Suburban Records last year directly after their show at Zwarte Cross Festival, played a sold-out show at Eurosonic at the beginning of this year, released their new album ‘Life in Babalou’ on March 2 and were just asked by Dutch rockers from De Staat to join them on their whole tour this spring. It’s clear 2012 will become the year of Birth of Joy!
